Paulton Schools PTA

Paulton Schools Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is primarily a fundraising group, it is registered under Charity Commission number 310207. We are a group of volunteer parents and teachers who work together to raise money to help make our schools a better environment for children to learn in. We raise funds through both in-person events, such as our Christmas and summer fairs, alongside out-of-school competitions and trails, as well as fun activities for our children such as our Discos and Storytime events.

For the 2024/25 school year our committee is as follows:
Presidents: Mrs Rawlings and Mrs Omell
Chair: Frances Prior-Reeves (Yr 1 and Yr 5 parent)
Secretary: Charlotte Seabrook (Yr 1 and Yr 4 parent)
Treasurer: Charlie Pierce (Yr R and Yr 4 parent)
Committee Members: Juliet Webb (Yr 1 and Yr 4 parent), Rachel Morgan-Cousins (Yr 1 parent), Jon Williams (Yr 4 parent), Grace Oatley (Yr 1 parent).

Our committee members are dedicated to attending as many meetings as possible for ideas and decision making, they are voted in according to our constitution. We aim to meet in week 1 or 2 of each term to discuss that term’s fundraising ideas or event. We welcome members with a wide range of fun and creative fundraising initiatives, events, and ideas to help raise vital money so both schools can buy things for the children that government funding does not cover. Historically, money has gone towards buying books for both schools, refitting the Infant’s library, resources for outdoor play, and luxury extras to support learning. This year we have committed to trying to raise £20,000 to replace our forest school classroom with our Forest School Campaign.

We also have a broader collection of parents who volunteer and are on our mailing list, but are unable or do not wish to attend all meetings. If your child is at either Paulton Infants or Paulton Juniors you may help with one event in their school life or lots, but we welcome and value all help and support. You can email us ideas or speak to one of us face to face.

Ways parents can help:
- Become a committee member
- Attending ideas meetings
- Event planning
- Bid writing
- Volunteering at school events, e.g. running a stall at the fair
- Reaching out to businesses for donations to help us raise money, e.g. in a raffle
- Making posters
- Emailing the PTA with any fundraising ideas
- Admin for our Facebook page to answer queries
- Some people run charity events and donate money to the PTA
- Making hampers to raffle or as competition prizes
- Donating bottles or cakes for our fairs

Forest School sessions provide all of the children at both schools from Reception to year six, a place to learn in nature and our schools believe it's a vital part of a pupil's holistic educational journey.

In Sept 2024, our Forest School classroom and bridge were deemed unsafe and we have had to use £2,000 from last year's PTA money just to get these removed and make the area safe. The PTA are trying to raise enough money to build a new outdoor classroom to facilitate these all-important forest school sessions.
